Editing text content

When you create a text object, it appears in the layout with sample text. Follow these procedures to replace the sample text with your own.

Editing a regular text object is slightly different from editing Smart Objects.

To edit a regular text object:

Right-click the object, and select Edit Text from the popup menu.

Editing a Smart Object’s text is done in one of two ways depending on which Smart Object’s text you are editing. Some Smart Objects have an in‑place text editor, and others have their own content‑specific text editor.

To edit Smart Object text in place:

Right-click the object, and select Edit Text from the popup menu.

To edit Smart Object text in a content specific editor:

To edit a chapter list, track list, or file/folder list:

Right-click the object, and select Edit Text from the popup menu.
Note: If you have auto-filled the Smart Object list, it will be populated with information from your disc, and will have a placeholder text line at the end of the list.

Optional: You can repeat steps 2 and 3 to add additional text rows.

Optional: If you are editing a Chapter Title List, or a Track Title List, you can do one of the following:

Select the Show Track Duration check box to populate the Duration field with the run time of each track, or click it to clear the Duration field. (Audio projects only.)

Select the Show Chapter Duration check box to populate the Duration field with the run time of each chapter, or click it to clear the Duration field. (Video projects only.)

If you are editing a Chapter Title List or a Track Title List item, press the Tab key to enter or edit text in the Duration field.

Optional: You can use the drop-down lists and check boxes to select a font, font size, and text effects (see Formatting text for more information).

Optional: You can use the Text Effects drop-down lists, check boxes, and sliders to change the text effect properties, such as color, shadow, and border (see Formatting text for more information).

Click OK.

To edit a date object:

Right-click the object and select Edit Text from the popup menu.

To edit an overspan disc number object:

Right-click the object, and select Edit Text from the popup menu.
Note: When you save your project, the number format is saved. When you open the project again, the saved format is displayed.

To edit a serial number:

Right-click the object, and select Edit Text from the popup menu.
Note: If you save your project, the last serial number printed and the increment value is saved. When you open the project again, the saved number and the increment are displayed. You can then continue printing the number sequenced labels and use the same increment, or click Reset to clear them.
